Ambulette (Wheelchair Van)

OUR FLEET

Our fleet of vans now includes three rear lift vans. The benefit of this is that we are able to accommodate more bariatric patients in wheelchairs. The rear load vans are safer, and easier to maneuver patients in.

Our wheelchair van drivers are top notch! All drivers have completed our company’s Passenger Assistance and Driver Training. They are also First Aid and CPR trained. Samaritan Care is a drug free company and pre-employment, as well as random testing is performed.

At Samaritan Care, our drivers put forth their best efforts each and every day to get our patients to their destinations safely and on time.

WHAT WE DO

  • Discharges from a hospital to a residence or nursing home.
  • Appointments from residences or nursing homes to doctor offices.
  • Transport to and from dialysis.

SCHEDULING A TRANSPORT

Call as soon as you schedule the appointment you need transportation for. We book up quickly, sometimes months in advance, and the sooner you call, the easier it is to schedule with us. This is especially true if your destination is out of town.

When scheduling a transport we need to know the following information:

  • Name and phone number of the person setting up the transport
  • Patient’s name
  • Patient’s address
  • Doctor’s name and address
  • What the patient is going for (ie – regular appointment, follow up, procedure) and how long the appointment is expected to last
  • Does the patient have their own wheelchair
  • If coming from a residence, is there a ramp or any steps
  • Does the patient use Oxygen
  • Approximate patient weight

INSURANCE AND PAYMENT

  • The only insurance that will cover transport by Ambulette is Medicaid. Ambulette transport is not a “covered service” for Medicare or Commercial Insurances.
  • If a patient has Medicaid, we will bill Medicaid directly. If not, we will bill the patient or other appropriate party.
  • We are happy to set up a payment plan! Just call our office and ask for the billing department.
  • Bills can be paid by sending a check to our mailing address. Please make sure to include the patient ID and date of service on the check. Please do not send cash.
  • Bills can also now be paid by credit or debit card with our NEW SECURE ONLINE BILL PAY!  We accept VISA and MasterCard.
